About Ballarat Day Procedure Centre
Ballarat Day Procedure Centre comprises of three operating theatres and offers a broad range of surgical services for all patients. Surgical specialities include Orthopaedics, Gynaecology, IVF, Plastics, Gastroenterology, Ophthalmology, ENT, Urology, General Surgery, Vascular Surgery and Dental.
We are seeking a dynamic, passionate, and motivated Perioperative Nurse Unit Manager to lead a dedicated team on a part-time or full-time basis.
You will be well supported by an inclusive and supportive Executive team and be provided with career succession opportunities as you develop within the Cura Group.
Ballarat Day Procedure Centre operates Monday and Friday, so there will be no shift work, no weekend work which will provide you with highly desired work: life balance.
The NUM will manage the day management of the theatres by providing clinical and professional leadership, coordinating day to day activities, and troubleshooting within the Perioperative environment. You will ensure the delivery of high-quality care in accordance with legislative requirements and professional guidelines.
Key focus areas for this role include:
Delivering exceptional experience using a patient centred approach
- Responsibility for driving timely and effective patient flow through the unit
- Promotes a culture of continuous improvement within the unit by monitoring standards of service and practice and leads the team to ensure that interventions are designed and implemented to address areas where variance to the agreed standards exists.
- Assisting with the development and implementation of systems, processes and projects required to ensure efficient, effective, and responsive patient centred care in line with the organisation’s strategic direction
- Promote and contribute to a supportive and engaged team environment.

To be successful in your application for this position, you will have:
- Current nursing registration with AHPRA
- Previous experience in a similar role or at senior management level e.g. ANUM or equivalents
- Post Graduate qualifications in Perioperative nursing
- Highly developed interpersonal and leadership experience
- A strong commitment to high quality care
- The ability to work as part of a diverse team
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Awareness and understanding of National Accreditation Standards.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development
