Tell me more...The Nurse Practitioner is a Registered Nurse educated and authorised to function autonomously and collaboratively in an advanced and extended clinical role within their scope of practice. As a Clinical Leader, you will provide innovative and flexible health solutions whilst influencing and progressing evidence based clinical practises and procedures.
The Nurse Practitioner is grounded in the values, knowledge, theories and practice and provides innovative and flexible health care delivery that complements the entire healthcare system and is authorised to practice as a Nurse Practitioner with legal provisions to diagnose, prescribe medication, order diagnostic tests and refer to other health professionals.

To be successful in this role you will have:
Advanced knowledge of relevant legislation including Health and Hospitals Network Act, Workplace Health and Safety Act, and Equal Employment Opportunity Legislation and other relevant legislation.
Demonstrated ability to provide clinical mentorship/supervision and the ability to build workforce capability
Expert knowledge and extended practice in the application of evidenced based clinical management, diagnostic investigation and pharmacological management of patients in a rural and isolated practice context
Expert level of communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to consult liaise and negotiate with hospital and community health providers within the Torres Cape Hospital and Health Service and beyond.
