Lismor Base Hospital is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to provide high levels of clinically focused nursing care within the specialty area of Psychogeriatrics, Dementia and Delirium nursing to improve access of care and addressing gaps in existing health care services through the provision of a flexible and innovative model of care.
Providing clinical and professional leadership as an expert in the clinical field and undertaking comprehensive health assessments as well as collaborating and consulting with other members of the health care team to plan, implement and evaluate care. This integrated approach will support best practice and maximise patient care outcomes.
Providing a service to inpatients, outpatients and emergency patients presenting to Ballina, Lismore, Casino Hospitals and Kyogle, Nimbin, Urbenville and Bonalbo Multipurpose Services. The Nurse Practitioner provides support for the high care aged care residents across the MPS Network.
If you have:
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and endorsement by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Nurse Practitioner with a minimum of 5 years’ full time equivalent post registration experience with at least 3 years’ full time experience in Psychogeriatrics, Dementia and Delirium and post graduate qualifications relevant to the area of clinical specialty
- Demonstrated advanced clinical skills, competence and leadership in the assessment, treatment and management of patients with psychogeriatric needs, dementia and delirium
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of current issues impacting on the provision of psychogeriatric, dementia and delirium services in regional and rural areas
- Proven advanced skills in clinical teaching and leadership in strategic and clinical service planning and evidence of the ability to influence organisational and cultural change
- Proven information technology skills with specific experience in the use of word processing, database and spreadsheet software
