About you:
You are a qualified Nurse Unit Manager with demonstrated advanced clinical evidence-based skill and knowledge in nursing, service coordination and interdisciplinary care management, evidenced by feedback, recency of practice and achieved clinical competencies, proven ability to communicate relevant, prompt and accurate information, are approachable and resourceful in working with senior colleagues and peers; use good judgement in prioritising courses of action and are respectful to co-workers and customers.
Your opportunity:
The Nurse Unit Manager is a Registered Nurse who is accountable at an advanced practice level for the coordination of meeting best practice standards in alignment with the national safety and quality health service standards (NSQHSs). The Nurse Unit Manager is also responsible for providing effective and efficient human and material resources.
You will be a valued and integral part of the wider Mental Health and Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drugs Service leadership team and will work collaboratively with a range of internal and external stakeholders and organisations to deliver contemporary nursing care, within a dynamic interdisciplinary health environment.
Your role:
- Provide effective and efficient management of service in collaboration with the Director of Nursing, clinical and non-clinical staff to facilitate the provision of quality evidence-based care within the Adolescent Inpatient Unit.
- Use information systems and incorporate data to identify trends and facilitate patient flow through the Adolescent Inpatient Unit.
- Ensure that the unit is adequately and efficiently resourced regarding material, financial and human resources.
- Effectively manage self and in collaboration with Nurse Educators and Clinical Nurse Consultants, take responsibility for nursing leadership and coordination of the unit.
- Accountable for own decisions, actions, behaviours, and standards including monitoring and evaluating activities delegated to others.
- Lead and actively promote a positive workplace culture by developing and maintaining an efficient and effective nursing team that works collaboratively with professional colleagues, relevant external stakeholders and organisations, consumers their families and carers.
