About the Opportunity
Rosemeadow Community Health Centre is recruiting for a Nurse Unit Manager to complement and enhance the current Sustaining NSW Families Team.
In this role you will be in charge of providing support and assistance to parents in the Macarthur LGA with vulnerabilities who are just about to become parents. The position works within Rosemeadow Community Health centre, alongside a multidisciplinary team and vulnerable families within the Macarthur LGA. Families are visited by their allocated Child & Family Health Nurse from the antenatal period until their baby turns two.

What You'll be Doing
The Nurse Unit Manger is responsible for facilitating the Sustaining NSW Families Macarthur program and for the timely provision of accessible, equitable and evidence based family focused care provided by the Child and Family Health Nursing Team.
Sustaining NSW Families (SNF) is a structured Child and Family Health Nurse (CFHN) led sustained home visiting program for children 0 – 2 years of age and their families. It is an evidenced based intervention for families living in areas of socio-economic disadvantage that have been identified as vulnerable and at risk of poor maternal health and wellbeing and poorer child health and developmental outcomes. Families are visited by their allocated CFHN from the antenatal period until their baby turns two.
The Nursing Unit Manager (NUM) is in-charge of all aspects of the unit environment and takes overall responsibility for the standard of patient care in the unit. The NUM is pivotal to the coordination of patient care, unit management and leadership to ensure the delivery of high quality patient care and efficient use of resources.

How to Apply
To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria as thoroughly as possible. * Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Tertiary qualifications in Child and Family Health nursing with relevant experience deemed appropriate by SWSLHD.
  • Demonstrated management experience in leading staff and managing services in a relevant setting.
  • Proven ability to ensure the human, physical and financial resources of the unit are managed to provide safe, compassionate, quality care that is culturally responsive
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with patients/consumers, carers and the multidisciplinary health care team to identify and ensure responsiveness of care needs
  • Demonstrated capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner and manage conflicts and performance issues when they arise
  • Demonstrated evidence of the use of critical thinking as it relates to the management of the unit and the delivery of evidenced based nursing care
  • Demonstrated understanding and participation in risk management , work health and safety and quality improvement in the workplace
  • Current unrestricted Australian drivers licence (P2 Licence Acceptable) subject to obtaining NSW drivers licence within 3 months of appointment.
