We are seeking an experienced and innovative Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) to support and lead our acute adult Inpatient Service workforce. This position is a key part of our nursing leadership team.

About the Role
The Nurse Unit Manager position works in direct collaboration with another NUM to manage the 44-bed Mental Health acute Inpatient Service at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne. Working together to provide leadership and management to a large team of nurses and allied health professionals promoting a healthy, safe and supportive working culture, to enhance the provision of care and deliver the best outcomes for our consumers.
Your Contribution
- Strong leadership skills and experience in the management of a medium/large team required
- Previous experience as a Nurse Unit Manager or leadership role in a clinical unit, ward or department
- Demonstrated ability and experience in the leadership of a multidisciplinary team
- A comprehensive understanding and working knowledge of the Mental Health & Wellbeing Act (2022)
- Demonstrated problem solving ability and conflict resolution skills.
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, including problem solving ability and conflict resolution skills, as well as sound oral and writing skills.
- Registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Relevant degree or postgraduate qualification in Mental Health
- Minimum 5 years Post qualification experience in Mental Health
- Current Victorian Driver's license
- Current National Criminal History, or willing to obtain

About St Vincents Mental Health
St. Vincent’s Mental Health (SVMH) provides high quality, recovery-oriented services across an adult area Mental Health service for the inner-city areas of Yarra and Boroondara. The service utilises the Recovery Oriented Framework for Mental Health services which is embedded across all parts of the service.
The adult Mental Health Inpatient Service comprises of a 44 bed Acute Inpatient Service (AIS) located on the St. Vincent’s Hospital site.
