The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Nurse Unit Manager (Patient Access and Flow Unit) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Manage the daily fluctuations in demand capacity management through the opening and closing of the Hospital and Health Service bed platforms
- Consult regarding the nursing and midwifery workforce requirements
- Require an indepth understanding to enable management of the patient flow / journey including bed allocation and management processes
- Work inconjunction with the Assistant Director of Nursing (PAFU) to support the management of HR functions including establishment management, rostering and payroll reconciliations
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
- Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
- Temporary full time
- Base salary ranging from $4933.10 - $5355.90 per fortnight

The Patient Access and Flow Unit (PAFU) provides centralised coordination of Patient Access and allocation of movements through the acute care setting – the right patient, admitted to the right bed, at the right time.
The PAFU teams manage the daily fluctuations in demand capacity management through the opening and closing of the Hospital and Health Service bed platforms, and consulting regarding nursing and midwifery workforce requirements in a proactive real-time approach
