The ND WPS requires extensive professional and clinical expertise to effectively work in collaboration across nursing and midwifery and in partnership across all disciplines. The role reports directly to the EDNM and has key accountability for the delivery of professional nursing and midwifery governance to ensure the delivery of contemporary nursing and midwifery services.
The role
- Autonomous decision making based on nursing, policy and regulatory frameworks.
- Demonstrate expertise in recruitment and retention strategy and operational recruitment delivery.
- Responsible for nursing/midwifery activities related to the portfolio across THHS and contribute to strategic and policy development to achieve best practice outcomes for nursing and midwifery.
- Investigate and address emerging trends with potential to influence nursing/midwifery.
- Apply the principles of succession management and mentoring to engage staff in ongoing career development, growth and lifelong learning.
- Promote and/or engage in ongoing nursing/midwifery research across THHS.
- Contribute to budget integrity and fiscal management according to financial and Human Resource delegations.
- Mandatory: Bachelor of Nursing and or Bachelor of Midwifery or equivalent is a required qualification for this position.
- Highly Desirable: Possession of a relevant postgraduate qualification in an appropriate field is highly desirable. Such experience may be discipline specific or have a service area focus.
- Travel: This position may be required to travel to other facilities located within the THHS to participate in meetings for planning, quality, performance, training and education, or clinical activities. This may involve day and/or overnight stays. Travel on small planes or ferry may be required. The successful applicant/s will need to be able to commit to this requirement.
Generous remuneration package value $186,281 p.a.comprising:
- Wage rate $6239.60 p.f. (NG11)
- Annual leave with a 17.5% loading.
