Consultant Obstetrician/Gynaecologist
The Role:
As the leading public health service in the Northern Region, we are seeking dedicated and passionate Consultant Obstetrician/Gynaecologists to join the team at Northern Health for a part-time ongoing position.
The Consultant/Locum will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary team members including allied health clinicians, nursing and medical staff to deliver high quality Obstetric & Gynaecology services as well as driving related research and innovation. The role is based at various Northern Health campuses and will encompass ward, theatre and outpatient care.
To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Medical registration with the Medical Board of Australia under the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Current National Police and Working with Children History Check.
  • The Staff Immunisation Questionnaire must be completed by all new employees as part of the mandatory on-boarding process. New employees are not permitted to undertake any activity that requires patient contact prior to clearance by the Staff Immunisation. This also includes evidence of having the Flu vaccination on a yearly basis and being fully vaccinated against Covid-19. New employees with contra-indications to vaccinations or who decline vaccination are required to attend a face to face consultation with the Immunisation Nurses for appropriate documentation of their contraindications or declination. This must be completed PRIOR to commencing any work with Northern Health.
  • Undergraduate medical qualification as a first degree is essential - MBBS, MD, PhD or equivalent.
  • Appropriate specialty qualifications such as Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists (RANZCOG) or equivalent is essential.
  • Eligible for registration for Medicare provider number.

All applicants must participate; the appointee must participate in the Credentialing and Scope of Practice process at Northern Health by completing the Credentialing and Scope of Clinical Practice applications via the electronic credentialing system - CGov prior to interview.
