Sydney Civil, a construction company based in Sydney, is seeking a dynamic individual to join their team as a Health & Safety Advisor. The Safety Advisor will report directly to the Project Safety Manager and will be responsible for providing HSE advice, support, and direction to our project delivery teams on all HSE-related matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake regular and systematic inspections and audits across multiple project sites, covering management systems, safe work procedures, behavioural safety, and preventative measures.
- Undertake site safety walks, either with the client or management, ensuring close out of all corrective actions.
- Provide timely and expert HSE support, advice, and assistance to all project and workshop personnel.
- Carry out and provide support during incident investigations.
- Help facilitate and have a consistent presence at pre-start meetings and toolbox talks.
- Advise our Engineers on and assist them with the preparation of safety-related documentation.
- Respond promptly to client-raised issues, taking the opportunity to build positive relationships with said client.
- Attend client-related safety meetings as required.
- Comply with and promote other Company policies, guidelines, and procedures.
- Actively participate in the onboarding, probationary review, and annual performance review processes.
Key Skills and Competencies:
- Bachelor Degree or higher education related to the position.
- Construction Induction Training ('White Card')
- Ability to work in a small team environment and be a team player.
- Provide First Aid/CPR, ensuring this certificate is current at all times.
- Current Driver License
