About the role:
We are seeking an OHSE Manager to manage our safety initiatives and ensure a safe work environment throughout our organisation. This role entails developing, implementing, and managing health and safety programs, ensuring compliance with legal requirements at industry standards. Your expertise will help foster a safety culture and drive continual improvement, focusing on environmental sustainability and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) practices.
This OHSE Manager position offers an exciting opportunity for someone who can work independently. Ideally, you will have a background in after sales car care and excel at building relationships with key stakeholders. The role primarily involves being on the road, covering metro, rural, and occasional overnight locations to ensure that all sites are safe and comply with OHSE standards.
- Permanent position
- Salary range: $140,000 - $160,000 + 11.5% Superannuation
- Phone and laptop provided
- Monday - Friday schedule with no weekend work
Responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing OHSE policies and procedures
- Conducting risk assessments and hazard analyses
- Ensuring compliance with OHSE legislation and standards
- Leading incident investigations and implementing corrective actions
- Building collaborative relationships for WHS management
- Providing OHSE training and support to staff
- Monitoring and reporting on OHSE performance and improvements
- Promoting a culture of Safety and wellbeing
- Coordinating emergency response plans
- Collaborating with management on OHSE initiatives
- Overseeing OHSE audits and contractor management
- Managing workplace injuries and claims
- Fostering proactive safety behaviors and leadership
- Supporting HSE policy deployment and risk management
- Maintaining a consultative approach to HSE development
Qualifications and Skills:
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in OHSE or related field
- Minimum 5 years' experience in OHSE, preferably in automotive or manufacturing
- In depth knowledge of OHSE legislation
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Experience in WorkCover, incident, and hazard management
