So, what’s the role?
As our Test & Environments Lead, you will take responsibility for the successful delivery of the Testing components and deliverables related mainly to Core Banking platforms and associated programs of work. This will involve gathering requirements, building an environment strategy and detailed plan and executing tests all whilst implementing and continually improving.
The role is tactically focused and instrumental in delivering a superior core banking/customer experience with a strong focus on clarifying requirements, providing input to system architecture, proposing solutions, and creating detailed technical requirements for testing execution and reporting.
Key accountabilities for the role:
- Establish and build out the testing function across a range of services and platforms relating mainly to Core Banking and other banking services.
- Develop comprehensive test plans and strategies for various Core Banking services and RPA/Automation processes (e.g., UI Path) considering factors such as functionality, performance, security, and scalability in alignment with program and workstream schedules.
- Identify and implement appropriate testing methodologies and tools to ensure thorough and efficient testing processes and practices.
- Plan, deploy and execute the testing effort across relevant workstreams.
- Review and analyse functional and technical requirements specifications for systems and integrations. Collaborate with Business Analysts/Engineers to develop effective strategies and test plans.
- Establish and maintain: Environment Strategies, Environment plans and Release plans inclusive of SaaS / cloud and managed service-based solutions.
- Reporting documentation/preparation of packs for working streams, SteerCo and Board.
About You
You have solid experience in a Test Lead, Production Support or similar role. You come equipped with a strong understanding of software testing principles and methodologies and experience with test automation tools, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and version control systems. Ideally you have worked in banking or financial services and have knowledge and experience of Ultracs (integrated Core Banking system).
You will also have:
- Knowledge of JIRA, MS Planner, Azure DevOps, Power BI or similar.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies, testing techniques and best practices.
- Knowledge and/or experience with automation tools such as Tosca or SoapUI/ReadyAPI, Selenium, DevOps, TestRail or other leading tools/software.
- Knowledge and/or experience with programming/scripting language Basic, SQL, Javascript, Powershell, Python.
- Proven experience in testing applications in medium to large scale and complex IT software replacement programs.
- Certified ISTQB or equivalent
