With this emerging therapy and equipment service, you will find an extremely experienced team dedicated to helping the elderly and disabled population. One of their primary drivers is to reduce the spend on Home Care / NDIS plans, allowing clients to maximize services and ultimately receive the best possible outcomes. This role will see you improving the quality of life of our respected elderly population, promoting independence and autonomy. You will also have the opportunity to provide meaningful therapy to adults with a disability in the community. You will be met with a highly personal, collaborative, and switched-on group of professionals. Be valued as an individual and met with the support to assist your autonomy and success as an Occupational Therapist.
The Role:
- Undertake assessments - assessment of daily living capabilities and provide intervention with a focus on evidence-based practice.
- Provide therapy in line with client’s Home Care packages / NDIS plan
- Prescription of equipment, assistive technologies and other therapy supports if relevant / of interest
- Liaison with families and other relevant stakeholders
- Collaboration with the wider team and Equipment specialists
- Providing treatment, guidance and education to individuals and their carers.
Requirements:
- Tertiary Qualification in Occupational Therapy (with current AHPRA registration)
- A passion for facilitating and enabling meaningful outcomes for the elderly population and people with disability
- Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and families to ensure that therapy is fun and engaging.
- Current driver’s license and car
- Working with Children Check, National Police Check, Children's First Aid training (or willingness to obtain these).
- Some clinical Occupational Therapy experience is essential
