What You Will Be Doing
The Grade 2 Occupational therapist provides demonstrated skills in occupational therapy assessment and intervention for clients, aged over 65 years who are experiencing a range of Mental Health, including dementia, medical and psychosocial difficulties. Intervention may be on an individual or group basis, and include all areas of occupational performance relevant to the client's identified goals.
The OT works closely with members of the interdisciplinary team including Medical, Nursing, Physiotherapy, Social Work, Dietetics, Speech Pathology, Neuropsychology and Podiatry. Weekly team meetings are based on an interdisciplinary, person centred model of care.
What You Need
We anticipate you will have:
- Current registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia (via AHPRA)
- Current Victorian Driver's Licence
- High level skills in the assessment of occupational performance considering physical, cognitive and psychosocial aspects of the person and their environment and determine appropriate intervention in the aged persons Mental Health unit.
- Demonstrated ability to participate in interdisciplinary teamwork and discharge planning activities
- Demonstrated skills in the area of complex functional and behavioural assessments and recommendations for equipment, modifications and behaviour management strategies
- High level of verbal and written communication skills appropriate for the purpose and intended audience
- Demonstrated commitment to professional development and evidence-based practice

*Please refer to salary circular VICTORIAN PUBLIC MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES ENTERPRISE AGREEMENT 2021-2024 for salary range. Sub-grading will be based on years of experience.
