PaRK provides mental health services to adults and older adults living in the communities of Kwinana, Rockingham, Mandurah, Pinjarra and Waroona. The PaRK mental health service is a vibrant and progressive organisation whose mission is to provide safe and contemporary patient care within a positive work environment and culture.

There is a broad suite of services available including adult and older adult inpatient (including and ECT program) and adult and older adult community services as well as a number of speciality services including emergency department liaison, consultation liaison, day therapy, hospital in the home. early episode psychosis, assertive community treatment, perinatal, GP liaison, drug and alcohol services, aboriginal mental health services, community step up and step-down accommodation among others. We offer a range of therapeutic programs including CBT, DBT rehabilitation services and peer support. We take pride in our strong links with our community partners and the community at large.

Rockingham and Kwinana Catchment:

Intensive Day Therapy Unit (Catalpa Centre)

Intensive Day Therapy Unit Is a sub-acute service providing non-residential Step-up/Step down services through a day program.

The target population for the IDTU is consumers between 16 – 64 years who are significantly disabled by mental illness and/or who require intensive treatment. 

The maximum length of treatment within the IDTU will be 12 weeks.

All referrals to IDTU for admission must be made through: Triage/Duty Officers/PLN’s, Intake Meeting, MDT and Ward Meetings at either Rockingham or Peel Adult Mental Health Services.

Referrals from either clients General Practitioner or from another community mental health team.

Assertive Community Team

The ACT team provide an evidence based intensive case management service using a flexible team for clients experiencing severe and enduring mental health illness and those that have had difficulty in engaging with mainstream services.

Specific eligibility criteria: clients must be suffering ongoing severe and enduring mental illness, and must have a history of poor, intermittent or chaotic engagement to services.

Internal referrals are received from ATT, CTT or Rockingham General Hospital Mental Health Inpatient Unit.

Early Episode Psychosis (EEP)

There are two geographical teams: Rockingham and Peel.

The Early Episode Psychosis (EEP) Program is an evidence based intensive case management service dedicated to early detection and intervention for individuals in the early stages of psychosis.

The program represents a system of care based on a partnership model between the government and non-government sector RUAH.

The goal is to provide a service that promotes recovery for people experiencing psychosis and to support their family and carers.

Referrals are reviewed on a weekly basis on a Friday. The clinical responsibility for the client remains with the relevant program/adult team until the referral has been accepted and the client allocated an EEP care coordinator.

Older Adult Community Mental Health Service

There are two geographical teams: Rockingham and Peel.

The Older Adult Community Mental Health Service provides specialist mental health services to individuals or a group who are 65 years or older (45 years for indigenous consumers), who are experiencing a mental illness and individuals whose mental disorder is complicated by physical and cognitive conditions associated with ageing.

The service is a multi-disciplinary team providing community-based assessment and treatment, advocacy, discharge planning and planning for residential care, day therapy and carer support programs, they utilise the Care Coordination Model, a day therapy service (CARM: Connect and Recovery Module) and a carer support service.

PEEL Catchment:

Specialist Rehabilitation Team (SRT)

The Specialist Rehabilitation Team is a sub-acute service providing time limited specialist rehabilitation services focusing on functional gain for return to work, activities of daily living, social inclusion and health and well-being.
