Care is at the heart of the Occupational Therapist in Western NSW Local Health District. The Occupational Therapist in Palliative Care is an integral part of the multidisciplinary health care team, providing high quality services to patients and their families/carers of the Western NSW Local Health District (WNSWLHD) in order to meet the needs of those with a life limiting illness, who have complex care concerns.

Where you’ll be working:
The Specialist Palliative Care Team based at Orange are a dedicated team, supporting patients with a life limiting illness across a number of care settings including hospital, community and residential aged care facilities.
The Orange - Specialist Palliative Care Team, includes a team of specialist nurses, Occupational Therapist, Social Worker, and Medical Officers, this team is supported by Clinical Nurse Consultants in Palliative Care.
This team is part of a District wide multidisciplinary Specialist Palliative Care Service, including nursing, medicine, allied health and Aboriginal Health Team Members.
Together this team work closely with other care providers and services to support clients, their families and carers from the community of Orange and provide outreach to surrounding smaller communities.
The Specialist Palliative Care Team is a consultation service team, providing care in the community, residential aged care facilities and inpatient hospital settings.
As a telehealth enabled District, the team provide consultations via a variety of modalities, including face to face and virtually.
