The Role
We are seeking a passionate Occupational Therapist to join the team. The role will include developing, delivering, reporting on, and monitoring ongoing evidence-based intervention within the fields of Autism, Sensory Processing Disorders, Developmental Delays, Fine and Gross Motor Co-ordination Complications, Learning Difficulties and Behavioural Interventions.
The role will also support teachers within the classroom environment, parents, service providers, and support workers with evidence-based interventions.
The successful candidate will also conduct assessments, ranging from sensory, functional, and SIL. An interest in creating sensory spaces is highly welcomed as we embark on setting up our Neurohealth hub within the clinic.
About You
- Bachelor Degree or qualification in Occupational Therapy
- Fully registered with AHPRA
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with other therapists, parents, teachers and children
- Capacity to work autonomously and as part of a team
- Knowledge, skills & experience with family focused & person-centred practice
- The ability to work sensitively with families from cultural backgrounds and complex needs
- Ability to empower families to implement and maintain strategies
- Experience as an Occupational Therapist
- A clear understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder and evidence-based practice relating to autism
