Mater is currently looking for an Officer – Communications to join our Corporate Affairs and Growth team, based at Mater Newstead. This role is a full time, permanent role.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a team of passionate Communications and Media professionals, promoting the work of one of Queensland’s leading healthcare, education and research organisations.
Salary range: commensurate with experience
What does the role entail?
This role includes producing highly developed corporate communications for Mater, including for Mater Health, Mater Education, Mater Research and Mater Foundation, in line with the strategic business and marketing objectives of the organisation.
- Assist in the development, implementation and evaluation of effective communication and engagement plans for Mater
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to generate strategic content for Mater’s communication channels, including social media
- Ensure consistency of corporate messaging and quality throughout all communications
- Manage the production of key publications
- Manage and coordinate internal events
- Assist in the development of media opportunities
- Monitor, analyse and report on the outcomes of communications, tactics and activities
- Support the Director of Communications and Media to achieve strategic and operational goals
About you
Applicants will have a tertiary qualification in Communications, Marketing or Public Relations (or relevant experience in communications) and/or experience in strategic discipline.
You will also have:
- Minimum of two years’ experience in the communications industry
- Demonstrated experience in delivering successful internal communications and/or media releases
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, digital asset management systems, content management systems, and digital platforms
- Knowledge of contemporary communication principles and evolving trends in communications
- Experience using email software to produce and distribute content.
Familiarity with the healthcare sector is desirable.
