Remuneration: Level 3 - annual salary commencing at $77,004.20, plus up to 13% superannuation

Role Overview
To provide efficient and effective maintenance of Council’s Financial Systems ensuring a high standard of customer service. As part of the Rates team, the Officer Rates position is to provide efficient and effective maintenance of Council's Financial Systems ensuring a high standard of customer service.
In this role, you would be expected to:
  • Provide a high standard of customer service and ensure accurate and timely responses to all enquiries.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance customer service and operating efficiency within the Council’s financial systems.
  • Manage the processing, documentation and recordkeeping for Council’s financial records.
  • Ensure records, registers, reports, enquiries reconciliations and correspondence are produced within agreed time constraints established by the Council, Executive and Chief Financial Officer.
  • Provide support and relief when required to the debtors function of the Revenue Services team.
  • Performance any other duties as directed by the Coordinator.
Essential Knowledge/Skills/Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated experience with computerised financial systems.
  • Demonstrated computer literacy, in particular with Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills to facilitate effective and efficient customer service.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, yet successfully work as part of an integrated team.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively to a time management plan to achieve work goals and meet deadlines.
  • Queensland ‘C’ Class driver’s licence or above that is current and maintained.
Desirable Requirements:
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation including the Local Government Act 2009 and Local Government Regulation 2012.

The Selection Process for this Position
Candidates successful in the first round of shortlisting for this role will be required to undergo stringent skills, psychological and behavioural testing using the SAFESELECT process. This process is used by Council to further shortlist candidates for interview.
The successful candidates may also require various other checks such as, qualifications, reference, medical and Police Criminal History check.
