Role Details:
Granny Smith is currently seeking a Superintendent: OHS who can make a difference to site safety and be a key part of the Sustainable Development team.
Reporting to the Lead: Occupational Health and Safety, you will be required to provide quality OHS guidance and strong leadership to a range of personnel. You will be responsible for managing all OHS activities to meet high safety standards including maintaining Zero Fatalities and reducing Recordable Injuries.

This role is offered on 2 x 8 days on 6 days, 4 days on and 3 days off roster and is Fly in Fly out from Perth or Drive in Drive out from the Goldfields region.

About the role:
Demonstrate a good level of knowledge and understanding of underground & surface mining operations, haulage, mineral processing of precious metals and shared use infrastructure to enable the competent management of an occupational health and safety service.
Contribute to business performance through the review, development, and maintenance of the OHS Management System and conduct regular audits to ensure compliance within the operation.
Participate in the development of the OHS department's goals, targets, and objectives to ensure alignment with the Sustainable Development department's strategic plan.
Support site operations in embedding and sustaining our Critical Hazard Standards management system
Coordinate and lead the preparation, communication, and execution of safety initiatives, OHS performance outcomes and management plans.
Assist with the management of the site's Occupational Hygiene requirements.
Facilitating significant incident investigations, identifying strategies to overcome the re-occurrence of incidents and managing incident reviews.
Develop, maintain, and deliver internal OHS-related training programs.
Collaborate and submit all relevant reports as required both internally and externally - weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports, including compliance-related reporting.
Assist and support employees in utilizing risk management practices and the development and implementation of appropriate controls.
Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to assist in identifying and managing workplace risks.
Facilitate the management of the INX safety database and reporting functions.
Support the delivery of a qualified emergency response service.

About you:
Tertiary degree in OHS or related discipline.
Extensive knowledge of relevant Health & Safety legislation and regulations
Extensive demonstrated experience in OHS in an operational setting with a strong working knowledge of OHS, risk management, emergency response and injury management in the resources sector.
Collaboration as an integral member of a multifunction team management team
High-level organizational and time management skills, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills
Advanced level in Microsoft Office applications
Possess a valid Australian Drivers License
