Job Summary:
We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our team as OOSH (Out of School Hours) Educators. As an OOSH Educator, you will be responsible for supervising and engaging children in a safe and nurturing environment during before-school, after-school, and vacation care programs. This part-time role requires split shifts in the Cessnock local area. For the right candidates a Certificate 3 in Outside of School Age Care Traineeship is available.

Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality care and supervision to children aged 5-12 years during before-school, after-school, and vacation care programs
- Create a welcoming and inclusive environment that promotes children's well-being, social interaction, learning, and development
- Plan age-appropriate activities that cater to the interests of the children attending the program
- Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, regulations, health standards, and child protection guidelines
- Foster positive relationships with parents/guardians through effective communication regarding their child's progress or any concerns that may arise
- Maintain accurate records of attendance sheets and incident reports as required by management
Skills:
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with children of various ages as well as their parents/guardians
- Strong organisational skills to plan engaging activities while managing time effectively within a structured schedule
- Patience and empathy towards children's individual needs ensuring inclusivity for all participants in the program
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while demonstrating initiative when required
- Basic understanding of health & safety protocols ensuring the physical well-being of all participants
Qualifications:
- A valid Working With Children Check is mandatory.
- Certification in First Aid/CPR is highly desirable.
- Prior experience working with children or relevant qualifications such as Certificate III/Diploma in Early Childhood Education or related field will be advantageous.
