Senior Educator
We are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic Senior Educator (permanent part-time) to work in a community run OOSH service, located in the grounds of Newtown North Public School. NNOOSH provides a Before (7:00-9:00am) & After (3-6pm) School Care & Vacation Care (8am-6pm) service for 110 children.
Role: Permanent, Part-Time Senior Educator
- Availability: 23-32hrs Per Week (hours are flexible for the right candidate)
- Requires availability 2-6pm every day (minimum 4 afternoons) and 2 mornings (flexible).
- You will also be given a minimum of 2 hours of admin time per week.
- Above award pay.
- Working during vacation care is required.
- Working with Children Check, Full First Aid Certificate and Child Protection Certificate (CHCPRT025) or willingness to obtain.
Desirable experience and skills:
Whilst qualifications and experience stated will be advantageous for candidates, we have no minimum qualification requirements – rather a view to employing somebody passionate and enthusiastic about children’s learning and wellbeing, who enjoys working collaboratively.
- Relevant qualifications such as Diploma of School Age Education and Care/Children’s Services (or similar in Early Childhood Education & Care) preferred (but not essential)
- 2+ years’ experience in the OSHC sector (or related field) preferred
- Understands, adheres to, and promotes the national principles for child safe organisations.
- An understanding of the needs and development of primary school children. Ability to facilitate activities to meet the needs and interests of children aged 5 to 12, and actively engage groups of children.
- Proven ability to consistently implement positive behaviour guidance strategies for children with diverse needs and backgrounds.
- Ability to contribute to a leadership team, managing staff in daily routines and guiding Educator practice.
- An understanding of the (recently updated) National Quality Framework, National Regulations and the My Time, Our Place Framework for School Age Care.
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn about updating centre policies and procedures.
