Operations NT is accountable to the Assistant Commissioner North for the conduct of efficient and effective customs, migration, surveillance, patrol and response activities in the Northern Territory's remote onshore and littoral operating domains.
Operations NT is responsible for maintaining control of persons, goods, vessels and small-craft through activities in the Northern Territory's in-shore maritime environment outside of seaport limits.
Operations NT delivers functions through border enforcement and operational activities on cross-border movements of people and goods in a number of operational areas, including international airports, seaports and cargo facilities. Operations NT plays a vital role processing travellers and goods to protect the Northern Territory's border from the entry of illegal and harmful goods and those intending to commit migration fraud or threaten the national interest. This includes processing travellers and goods arriving and departing Australia outside of major metropolitan airports and seaports, such as, vessels and small craft at remote seaports and light aircraft at regional airfields
APS4 Leading Operational Support Officers operate under general supervision and direction, and under operational command principles to perform a range of activities that support the effective conduct of the Australian Border Force's (ABF) operations. Depending on the position, the activities may include but are not limited to: oversight of daily operational activities; scheduling, detailed resource planning and allocation; assurance of standards; operations coordination; operational readiness; logistics and operational training.
APS4 Leading Operational Support Officers may lead some team functions or activities under general supervision and may have some responsibilities for managing staff performance, allocating work and identifying opportunities for on-the-job training. Some officers may assist with the planning, coordination and delivery of operational activities, providing technical input as required

Eligibility
To be eligible for the position you must be an Australian Citizen.
The successful candidate will be required obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting (AGSVA) security clearance and an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC).
