About the role
Reporting into the Manager Health and Safety, the primary purpose of the Officer Operational Training role is to support operational teams to develop, deliver and evaluate training. Develop role specific operations and health and safety training materials and provide technical guidance to the site operations teams on health and safety and Operational Training content. This is a 8/6 FIFO role in the Pilbara working between all 3 current sites.
Main responsibilities of the role include:
- Take a leading role in the analysis, design, development and implementation of health safety and emergency management training.
- In consultation with the Atlas People team Regularly update the operational Position Based Learning Matrix content and training programs are up-to-date.
- Review and update training and assessment material to align with relevant nation units of competency where possible.
- Evaluate and report on the effectiveness on training programs delivered.
- Coordinate delivery of site inductions, including the document management and record keeping process.
- Participate in the development task-oriented risk assessments with a view to developing, delivering and recording task specific training and assessment.
- Conduct observations of site activities and conditions, including high risk tasks, maintenance and shutdown activity to assess the effectiveness of training and assessment programs.
- Generating training compliance and analysis reports using the People@Atlas (SAP Success Factors) LMS.
- Maintain accuracy of operational and health and safety training records.
- Maintain currency of industry skills and trainer/assessor competencies.
- Coordinate and participate in training and assessment audits as part of the wider Health & Safety audit program.
- Support site Health and Safety team n the implementation of effective health and safety programmes and initiatives.
- Ensure own safety and health at work and that of others and provide visible leadership in driving positive health and safety behaviours consistent with the Atlas values.
- Site based role 8/6 FIFO roster across three Pilbara sites.
About you
You will be a dynamic, self-starter with plenty of enthusiasm and align with our Values of Excellence, Resilience, Agility, Integrity and Win-Win. You will be an individual who can think outside the box, have an eye for detail with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Minimum 3-5 years resource industry experience in same or similar role.
- Strong knowledge in a mining or resources related industry (desirable)
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment qualifications (TAE40116 or later) or Diploma in Training Design and Development(TAE50216 or TAE50122)
- Understanding of the Western Australia WHS Act (2020) and Regulations 2022 (Mines).
- Qualification in a Safety and Health or Risk Management related discipline (desirable).
- Knowledge of AQF and ASQA standards (desirable)
- E-Learning software experience (desirable)
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with colleagues, contractors, and associates at all times.
- Strong written and verbal communication, influencing and negotiation skills.
- Proactive approach, with the ability to work without supervision and make independent decisions.
- Extremely organised individual with the ability to juggle multiple tasks, while effectively and efficiently managing his/her own output.
- Flexible in approach with an adaptive style to suit changing workplace requirements.
- Motivate and influence others through demonstrating health and safety leadership behaviours.
- WA Drivers licence, Manual, C Class
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs
