This is a permanent, full time vacancy.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Banksia Hill Detention Centre (the Centre) is Western Australia’s only facility for sentenced and remanded young people aged between 10-18 years old. The centre is directly responsible for ensuring the safety and security of young people in custody, in alignment with the principles outlined in the Young Offenders Act 1994 and Young Offender Regulations 1995.

The Satellite Training Officer supports the development, implementation, management and delivery of the Corrective Services training framework and development solutions for all staff at the Centre, with the emphasis on youth related training.

ELIGIBILITY

  • In accordance with the National Child Safety Principles, people who work directly with children and young people, you must have a current Working with Children Check or be able to successfully apply for one to be eligible for appointment to this position.
  • Possession of/or progression towards a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or equivalent experience)

Subsequent Vacancies

Applicants found suitable but not recommended for this vacancy, may be considered for subsequent similar vacancies in the Department of Justice for a period of twelve (12) months, in accordance with Part 5 (General Appointment) of the Commissioner's Instructions No. 2: Filling a Public Sector Vacancy and Commissioner’s Instructions No. 39: Interim Arrangements to Fill Public Sector Vacancies.
