About the Role
As the company Operations and Project Manager, you must have a good understanding of the overall management and operation of a construction company. You need to be able to work collaboratively with a team and have a passion for leading, mentoring and supporting others. As well as leading design and construct teams, you will oversee and manage all project phases, developing systems, frameworks and processes to foster successful project delivery.
You will have the ability to work autonomously in this role, developing operational plans to improve and support both the front and back end of the business. You will need to identify opportunities for continuous improvement, including the implementation of best practice across the board. This role represents a great opportunity for a manager who is passionate for driving success and business growth.
We are looking for someone with substantial industry experience to drive the future of Beaches Group design and build. The successful applicant will shape their role and make this position their own. You will be expected to maintain clear communication in collaboration with the Director, to ensure both the business and Projects are running efficiently, with high quality control.
Responsibilities of this role (but not limited to)
- Manage and oversee the operations of the business across all departments
- Plan and execute business strategy through effective leadership
- Developing and implementing operational policies and procedures to ensure efficiency and effectiveness
- Monitoring and analysing key performance indicators to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions
- Participating in strategic planning and decision-making processes to drive business growth and success
- Stay up to date and educate others on industry trends, technological advancements and best practices within industry
- Project manage architecturally designed projects from DA to completion
- Oversee project supervisors and their coordination of various teams
- Managing resources, including equipment and personnel, to optimise productivity
- Ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and standards (BCA, NCC and AS)
- Review architectural drawings, designs, plans and specification documentation
- Support the arrangement of documentation for CDC, DA and CC
- Manage the development of construction methodologies, programs and schedules
- Effectively communicate with project stakeholders to manage expectations
- Ensure works undertaken are of the highest quality
- Monitor and review WHS and safety management
- Oversee the tendering process and aid in estimating
- Oversee the administration of contracts for both stakeholders and contractors
- Compose and manage variations
- Based in our Warriewood office
What you will need to succeed
To be successful in the role you must be proactive, highly organised and have a keen eye for detail. In addition to this you must meet the following criteria:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in construction management or another related field
- Minimum 10 years industry experience
- Aid recruitment processes and actively contribute to the growth and development of staff members
- Innovate and implement strategies aimed at improving business operations
- An autonomous and professional leader
- Both a decision maker and able to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Experience in detail-orientated bespoke projects
- A proven ability to work with and build trusting relationships with high-net-worth clients
- Knowledge of Australian building codes, regulations, and standards
- Familiarity with architectural drafting conventions and practices
- Excellent communication, negotiation and problem solving skills
- Highly professional written, verbal and presentation skills
- High computer literacy and proficiency in all digital applications
- Ability to be highly flexible and grow with the position as it develops
- Keen interest in your own personal growth and learning journey
- Ability to recognise when to prioritise and pause tasks, to maximise efficiency
