Our Logistics division is currently seeking a professional and hands-on Operations assistant to assist the Operations Manager in leading a culture of operational excellence with the idea of moving into management once trained.

About the role:
This is a permanent full-time position with a key focus on day-to-day operations management and coordination
An integral part of your role will be to support the operational manager.
The key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Allocation and coordination of customer bookings & deliveries;
- Ensuring that site specific inductions, training, performance records..
- Coordinating and scheduling of fleet and staff movement including monitoring hours and delays;
- Lead and supervise a team of drivers, providing leadership, guidance and training as needed.
- Ensure adherence to OH&S regulations, Mass Management, and Fatigue
- Managing relationships with vendors and partners, negotiating contracts and monitoring performance
- To be successful in this dynamic role you will have:
- Experience within a similar role, ideally within transport and logistics;
- Proven management experience of company and subcontractor fleet;
- Strong customer focus and the ability to build functional relationships and collaborate effectively with all customers & staff
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- The ability to work within a team environment as well as autonomously;
- A high level of computer literacy and attention to detail;
- A understanding of COR, NHVAS, BFM and Mass Management compliance accreditation systems and regulatory requirements would be ideal but on job training can be supplied
- Forklift ticket / Truck licence (HR, HC or MC) would be an advantage;
