The Operations Supervisor is responsible for the management of on road staff, delivery of infield services to client and legislated requirements and oversight of the management of fleet, equipment and traffic control stock. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this role is strongly focused on the supervision of the Traffic Controller crews. Demonstrated supervisory experience, strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to motivate team members are a key requirement.
Duties
- Oversee and coordinate the safe and compliant delivery of traffic management services
- Provide clear direction and guidance to traffic controllers in relation to safe work practices that align with company policies and procedures, legislative obligations and industry best practice
- Day to day liaising with clients, including attendance at relevant on-site and toolbox meetings, and be the first point of contact for all issues and enquiries relating to a project
- Liaise with clients and traffic controllers to effectively manage and resolve issues that arise on site
- Lead an excellent team environment & customer service satisfaction
- Develop strong internal and external client relationships
- Enhance client relationship to understand client’s scope of works, work practices and forecast future works.
- Co-ordinate inductions (ie people and equipment) with relevant departments and clients.
- Act as a first point of contact for on-site escalations, clients including afterhours as required
- Identify and communicate training and promotion opportunities for individuals within the workforce
- Conduct drug and alcohol testing in accordance with the Fit for Work policy and in support of prevailing KPI’s
- Ensure effective time management is undertaken to complete all daily tasks.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in the Traffic Control or a similar (blue collar) industry
- Demonstrated supervisory and/or training experience
- Prior experience in a workplace where health and safety has been a key operational focus
- Proven capacity for keeping a variety of tasks on stream and the ability to deliver against multiple timeframes
- Strong computer skills including the ability to engage with and learn new systems
- Proven track record in a service-based, customer-centric industry
- The ability to develop and maintain strong internal and external client relationships
