About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Operations Manager, this position has a strong focus on quality Customer Service and operational efficiency.
We are seeking an Operations & Customer Service Superstar who will take pride in guiding and supporting our Forwarding team to ensure optimal workflow management and customer satisfaction. A hands-on operational role, the position is also responsible to ensure all safety and compliance measures are adhered to.
Your Responsibilities:
- Work closely with and support the Operations Team through operational planning and development and taking accountability for the performance of the Forwarding team.
- Provide and ensure a high-quality service to our existing and expanding customer base in-line with business expectations and key performance indicators.
- Monitor service agreements as required to ensure efficient and pro-active service is delivered and strong relationships are created and maintained.
- Review operational performance of carriers and service deliverables, ensuring allotment optimisation. Work closely with Management Team for continuous improvement and lessons learned including reviewing, implementing and maintain SOPs/work processes.
- Act as a point of escalation for any enquiries or issues to streamline processes for maximum efficiency.
- Prepare quotes for all Intra & Inter State Forwarding as required.
- Maintain and update client information regarding contractually agreed service level agreements, rates, and charges. Review and authorise Supplier invoices.

Key Competencies and Skills:
The successful candidate will possess:
- Minimum 5+ years' relevant experience with a high-volume Freight Forwarder.
- Minimum 5+ years' relevant Customer Service experience or a similar role in Freight Forwarding industry.
- Success with building and motivating a team to optimise team performance and development.
- Proficiency in TransVirtual, Omnix & Hub Systems plus Microsoft Office 365 would be an advantage.
- A solutions, outcome focused person with a proven ability to streamline operations to improve efficiencies along with problem-solving acumen.
- Excellent customer & carrier negotiation and communication skills.
