About Us:
East 33 Pty Ltd and Sydney City Oysters is an expanding vertically integrated Sydney Rock Oyster producer with production facilities in several locations stretching from Camden Haven to port Stephens, and a distribution centre in Western Sydney.
The Role:
The Operations Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing all aspects of our distribution centers operations to ensure smooth and efficient functioning. Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain, you will be responsible for:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the processing production facility.
- Work closely with the Head of Supply Chain to ensure the required operational goals, objectives and KPI's are achieved.
- Drive a high level of compliance with HACCP standards to ensure quality and food safety standards are adhered to.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
- Manage performance and development the Production team and drive a culture of discipline, teamwork and excellence.
- Budgeting and cost control.
- Overseeing the planning and organisation of distribution schedules.
- Mentor production performance and KPI's including Safety, Quality, HACCP and productivity.
- Effective cross functional communication between production, logistics, and our farming teams.
To succeed in this role, you’ll need the following experience and skills:
Whilst it is not a requirement to have oyster knowledge, previous experience in the industry would be an advantage
- 10 years+ experience in an operational management position
- Strong leadership experience within FMCG or distribution.
- Experience in the seafood industry highly regarded
- Great interpersonal skills to be able to lead, coach and mentor your team
- Enthusiastic and forward-thinking approach to leadership and management
- Solution focused, fostering new ideas and initiatives
- A collaborative and inclusive approach to communication with all stakeholders
- An ability to drive a culture of accountability and continuous improvement with good critical
- analysis skills
- High level of understanding of Food Quality and Safety Standards
- Attention to detail, initiative and time management skills
- MS Excel
Highly desirable:
- Aquculture or Seafood industry experience.
- Previous demonstrated capacity to operate in a process driven environment.
- A proven ability to lead, mentor and develop people
- Ability to effectively manage multiple complex tasks
- Have the ability to adapt to the constantly evolving environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
