Who are we looking for?
We’re seeking a genuine, motivated Operations or General Manager to join our team. Whether you've got years of GM experience, or you reckon you're a natural leader or have worked in a marketing agency before and want the step up… We want to hear from you! Not in marketing? This is a newly created role off the back of amazing YOY growth at GRAVITATE Digital, with this year forecasting our team and agency KPI’s to double.
As a key member of the leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company's operations. This includes managing and developing client relationships, supporting the delivery of digital marketing services and collaborating with our growing team of 10+ digital marketing professionals to drive business growth.
When are we starting?
Now. Or in the next few weeks. Monday-Friday. Minimum 3 days in the office with 2 days (optional) work from home. You must have an excellent at home internet connection and at home office working environment.

Main jam:
As all experienced Operations and General Managers know, no day is ever the same. Your main jam however is to bring structure and clarity to the chaos. You will be reporting to the our Managing Director and working alongside our talented performance marketing, admin and accounting team.
The GM will focus on building and maintaining strong relationships with colleagues and clients to ensure their satisfaction and success through the delivery of high-quality digital marketing services. Daily operations and the development of business strategy, growth tactics and financial performance are required.
As you grow into the role, responsibilities from our Managing Director and leadership team will become your own accountabilities and duties.
Key responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the internal team, managing relationships and ensuring cultural positivity.
- Collaborate with account managers to deliver a first-class digital services for our Clients. You are the additional support for clients and colleagues to ensure ongoing satisfaction with our services.
- You will join monthly meetings with our clients; who vary from business owners and marketing managers, right through to a board room full of directors and C level executives.
- We are very proud of our client and colleague longevity. This is a KPI of this role.
- Assist in the delivery of digital marketing services, including paid advertising, SEO, social media marketing and email marketing.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the company, including managing budgets, capacity, time allocations, forecasting and resource allocation.
- Collaborate with our business development team to action and implement improved business strategy and simplify systems and operations to achieve company growth at scale.
- Collaborate with our sales team to source new and aligned clients. At all times, a conscious effort and character trait is to deliver an authentic, genuine and “non salesy” experience for prospects and existing clients.
- Collaborate with our accounting team to manage up-to-date financial performance, forecasting, payroll and budgeting. Business acumen with an eye for detail regarding KPI’s to deliver for the agency, team and stakeholders is a valued competency for this role.
- Strong analytical skills and experience using data to inform and optimise business KPI’s is a core competency for this role.
- A natural passion towards learning further about AI, automation, digital marketing and business growth. Keeping up-to-date regarding industry trends, technologies and best practices to identify opportunities for innovation and growth is encouraged.
- Ensure the team is meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality work to clients consistently.
- Mentor and develop team members, providing guidance and support to help them reach their full potential. Professional development is a consistent focus of our agency.
Measurable indicators:
- Remove bottlenecks from the Director. This is the number 1 reason we're hiring for this new position.
- Increased revenue and profitability for the agency.
- Successful MOM results for our clients.
- Excellent client and colleague satisfaction and retention rate.
- Achieving or exceeding team and individual performance goals.
- Director day-to-day duties are delegated with initiative, ownership and accountability.
- Team deadlines are achieved consistently.
- Roll out of new GRAVITATE service offerings in a polished, professional delivery, on time.
- Regular upgrades are being actioned to our systems and processes if and when required to improve efficiencies, simplicity and scalability.

☑ You have an entrepreneurial drive and spirit and can action ideas to completion. Whilst you take feedback and direction well, you can self-manage your workflow priorities to deliver on needle-shifting outcomes for clients, colleagues and stakeholders.
☑ You are a problem solver by nature who can keep your cool in stressful situations. You can handle multi-tasking multiple streams of work simultaneously to achieve deadlines.
☑ You have a degree in management, marketing, psychology, communications, media, business, accounting, statistics, administration or similar.
☑ You have worked in a marketing agency, an agency of some capacity, an ecommerce team and/or have lead teams of 5-10+ people.
☑ You have 1+ years of experience in key leadership/management roles; ideally with P&L accountability. You are confident in business operations and holistic business growth.
☑ You love being very hands on and visible with colleagues and clients. Initiative, communication and work ethic are strong character traits you exhibit.
☑ You’re a certified digital marketer with experience in paid advertising, digital marketing, website development, SEO, social media management and/or email marketing. Don't know it all or have the digital certifications? We're down to teach and mentor you if you have the attitude and passion to learn fast. We run weekly training sessions with our team to keep a finger on the pulse with digital evolutions. This role requires learning these skills if not already proficient. Knowledge in these skills will streamline your onboarding.
