About the Opportunity
We currently have an opportunity for an Operations Manager to join our team at Canobie. In this position, you will be crucial in assisting the Station Manager with the station's daily operations and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Reporting to the Station Manager, your key duties will include:
- Lead and train station staff to create an efficient and effective operational team.
- Coordinate staff workloads, supervise training, and conduct performance reviews.
- Direct mustering teams to implement animal husbandry programs.
- Oversee the welfare of horses and cattle in accordance with AACo’s policies and the Model Code of Practice for the Welfare of Animals.
- Track stock numbers for the company’s livestock information system.
- Ensure the station meets the requirements of the company’s Quality Assurance program.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Current Driver’s License (Heavy Vehicle License where applicable).
- Basic knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.
- Machinery operation and basic maintenance knowledge.
- Understanding of bores, windmills, fencing, construction, machinery, earthmoving, and stockmanship.
- Working knowledge of market specifications and the ability to draft cattle according to specifications by visual assessment and weight.
- Willingness to professionally represent AACo at industry and community events when requested by management.
- Personal qualities of leadership, commitment, and enthusiasm.
