Mater is looking for an Engagement and Operations Manager to join our Queensland Centre of Excellence in Autism and Intellectual Disability Health! This permanent, full-time position will be based at our South Brisbane campus.
Salary: Commensurate with experience plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900
What you’ll be doing
The role of the Engagement and Operations Manager in Queensland Centre of Excellence in Autism and Intellectual Disability Health (QCEAIDH) is to provide oversight of the day-to-day operation of the centre. This includes operational management of staff and the clinics, education and operational oversight of the research program.
The Operational Manager will oversee quality and safety aspects of the centre and ensure these fit with the broader policies that exist across Mater for staff. This role will be responsible for developing the Centre’s engagement strategy with people with lived experience of intellectual disability and/or on the autism spectrum and, the Health and disability sector to promote the work of QCEAIDH.

Queensland Centre of Excellence in Autism and Intellectual Disability Health
QCEAIDH aims to improve the Health and wellbeing of people with intellectual and developmental disability across the life span through clinic, research, and education.
QCEAIDH provides a specialist outpatient service located at Mater Hospital South Brisbane for patients with diagnosed or suspected Intellectual Disability and/or Autism and complex support needs that are referred by their GP, specialists or Queensland Mental Health Service for additional health assessment and advice. The outpatient clinic is also a teaching clinic, attended by student, trainees and qualified staff who want to improve their knowledge and skills in this area.
QCEAIDH undertakes research to improve the Health and wellbeing of people with intellectual disability and autistic people using inclusive research principles of co-design in all research activities. We have a strong track record in this area with the research agenda spanning health services and clinical research. Our research includes clinical trials and projects that will require staff to be involved in data collection and analysis.
QCEAIDH delivers tailored education to support the current and emerging (ie undergraduate and postgraduate) health workforce to better respond to the Health and mental health needs of people with an intellectual or developmental disability across the lifespan.
About you
You will meet the below criteria:
- Qualification in Allied Health and or Nursing with relevant experience in managing staff.
- Post graduate qualifications in Health and or health management highly regarded.
