As part of our Interior System business, Potter Interior Systems is a leading supplier of materials into the commercial construction and interior fit out market including suspended ceiling products, aluminium partitioning, steel stud, industrial and commercial insulation, Passive Fire Products and bespoke whiteboards. The Opportunity
The Operations Manager role is responsible for leading the operations functions across Potters Auckland to deliver the safety, quality, capability and cost requirements to support the strategic growth of the CSR Potters business.
Key Accountabilities
- Lead the Auckland operations, national inventory and customer service teams regarding all operational requirements
- Lead an Injury Prevention culture within the operations in pursuit of a zero-harm environment
- Represent and replicate the CSR core values
- Implement and maintain the CSR safety management systems throughout all Auckland operations.
- Design and maintain quality systems and practices to exceed customer expectations on product quality and lead times
- Lead and develop a continuous improvement culture in all areas of the business and implement CSR’s LEAN programme, as appropriate
- Ensure employees are adequately trained to be high performers in their roles
- Motivate and engage the workforce to continuously improve safety, quality, cost and delivery results
- Benchmark and roll out corporate initiatives across the Auckland operations.
About You
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as an Operations Manager within warehousing and logistics (trade distribution or building products highly regarded)
- Experience managing and improving inventory systems including forecasting, stock level setting and DRP
- Financial background in operating plans, budgets, capital expenditure proposals and cost reduction programs
- Systems experience (SAP highly regarded)
- Experience leading varied teams
- Strategic experience including continuous improvement initiatives and change management
- Forward thinking mindset with an ability to engage with key stakeholders.
