About You
You will be an accomplished operational leader with sound commercial and financial acumen. You will have a proactive and solutions focused approach with a ‘can-do’ attitude to achieve the best outcome for business operations.
Ideally you will have experience in a similar role with exposure to or an understanding of the hospitality, travel and tourism industry.
- Demonstrated experience in the provision of accommodation products and the delivery of food & beverage services
- An understanding of tourism, hospitality, and remote high-end product offerings
- 5-7 years’ experience in a similar role, size and scope of business across multiple sites
- A collaborative management style, with the ability to coach and mentor managers to achieve the shared business goals and engage their teams effectively
- Be highly organised, detail oriented and able to solve complex problems
- Experience leading a team with a diverse skill base and managing complex operational challenges
- Demonstrated experience in management of budgets
- High degree of professionalism, resilience, and accountability

About The Role
We are seeking an Operations Manager – Lodges to join our business in Darwin, NT. Reporting to the General Manager, this is a key leadership role responsible for the overall day to day lodge operations. There will be a strong focus on continuous improvement to ensure the highest of customer service and the delivery of guest experiences.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Setting, delivering, and implementing operating plans for the lodge operations and maximising the opportunities to achieve the budget and priority targets including continuous improvement, cost management, guest experience and operational excellence
- Ensure the delivery of all promoted product inclusions in support of the touring program while delivering the financial objectives
- Driving a high-performance culture through delegating, mentoring, and overseeing the work performance of direct reports
- Assist the GM, Lodges in preparing annual budgets and periodic forecasting
- Prepare and deliver lodge staff training for season commencement and throughout the season as required
- Create, prepare and plan future staffing requirements in line with business needs and budgets
- Ensure and drive the efficient use of lodge assets including any compliance documentation
- Ensure effective management of costs to meet annual expenditure budget, including oversight of lodges operating and food costs
- Oversee the day-to-day functions of the lodge operations team including reporting on monthly requirements such as food and beverage stocktakes, compliance registers, fuel logs, EFTPOS register, uniform ordering and distribution, sat phone registers, etc
- Ensure timely and effective safety and adverse event reporting and management.
- Champion sustainability in all aspects of the business with a focus on marine and land preservation, recycling, and reduction of fuel consumption
- Interact with relevant Traditional Owners and champion Indigenous relations and development of programs to engage indigenous youth
- Ensure all relevant local, state and federal governance documents and licenses are maintained monthly & annually
