AAT Kings, Alice Springs, is seeking an Operations Manager - a commercially and operationally talented professional to provide hands-on leadership across our Alice Springs operations.
The Role
We are a travel and tour company. The key objective of this role is to efficiently manage company resources to achieve set objectives; these include operational, legal, and budgetary requirements.
Additionally, building cohesive working relationships with all staff to deliver smooth-running tours that are safe, educational, fun, and profitable will be crucial to this role.
As a leader, you will show passion and be knowledgeable about the Australian tourism market, ensuring our product remains top of mind as Australia’s premier tourism operator.
Reporting to the Northern Territory General Manager, your key responsibilities will include:
- Effective Management: Oversee the utilisation of operations staff at Alice Springs.
- Senior Management Liaison: Coordinate with Senior Management regarding business operations, sales, and staffing at Alice Springs.
- Staff Management: Coordinate staff meetings, appraisals, training, and selection processes.
- Rostering/Scheduling: Ensure staff rosters align with fatigue management guidelines.
- Depot and Fleet Management: Maintain records, prepare reports, and ensure efficient depot and fleet utilisation.
- Incident Management: Handle breakdowns, accidents, client incidents, and guest complaints effectively.
- Legislative Compliance: Ensure all vehicles and equipment meet legislative and occupational health and safety requirements.
- Financial Oversight: Manage budgets, payroll, and reporting.
- Tour Management: Oversee all tours and charters focusing on cost, safety, productivity, and quality service.
Required Experience and Skills
- Strong managerial skills
- Vehicle coordination knowledge
- Ability to lead and motivate staff
- Capacity to prioritise and manage multiple tasks, work well under pressure, and meet deadlines
- HR Drivers License or ability to obtain
- Passenger Authority or H Endorsement or ability to obtain
- First Aid Certificate or ability to obtain
- Willingness to travel occasionally
