Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced hands-on Operations Manager to oversee and enhance our marine dredging division. This role requires a proactive leader with a strong background in marine engineering, project management and team supervision. The ideal candidate will have a hands-on approach and a deep understanding of dredging operations, ensuring projects are completed efficiently, safely and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Plan, coordinate, and oversee all phases of dredging projects, from inception to completion.
- Operational Oversight: Ensure efficient day-to-day operations, including equipment maintenance, crew management, and logistics.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a skilled team of dredging professionals, fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
- Safety Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and regulatory requirements, conducting regular safety audits and training.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and financial accountability.
- Client Relations: Maintain strong relationships with clients, addressing concerns and providing regular project updates.
- Quality Control: Implement quality assurance processes to meet and exceed project specifications and client expectations.
- Technical Expertise: Utilize technical knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve operational challenges swiftly.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or professional certifications are a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in marine dredging operations, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent project management abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of dredging equipment and technologies.
- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
- Proficiency in safety and environmental regulations.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to work in challenging marine environments and travel to project sites as needed.
