The Operations Manager is responsible for the operational effectiveness of our service delivery on an ongoing basis. This role encompasses the full scope of an operations manager responsibilities; staff hiring, management and engagement, the day-to-day efficient operation of the State and dispatch teams, reporting, and identifying and leading process improvements. This encompasses demand planning, doctor rostering, dispatch performance, analysis and regular engagement/management of the doctor cohort.
About you…
Ideally you have worked in Healthcare with Doctors previously and you understand how to streamline and imbed processes, lead, develop, and most of all, motivate your team who consist of a large casual population. Your ability to work across disparate teams in numerous locations (Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide) to create a unified team, that fosters a high performance and engaged team culture.
You have a logistical approach to problem solving and enjoy the challenge of applying this thinking to a business which has a positive attitude to change. In this role you will draw heavily upon your ability to influence, collaborate and engage.
The role is based in our Richmond office in Melbourne Monday to Friday, however as Doctors are on the road weekdays from 6pm, Saturday from 12 noon, and all day Sundays and public holidays, there will be flexibility required to provide escalation support over weekends or public holidays for your supervisory team.
Key areas of focus.
- Operations – Deep collaboration to ensure co-ordination of Doctor training, rosters, communication, medical stock, and Patient visits
- Financial control – Understanding of revenue and cost drivers including budget management responsibilities
- People management – Recruitment, induction, rostering, training, performance management, monitoring of key performance indicators and employee experience.

- General Practice Management desirable
- Strong written and spoken communication skills
- 2+ years in the position or similar
- Experience managing a healthcare operation or logistics operation, demand or workforce planning.
- Bring an ownership mentality with a bent toward process improvements
- Good critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to challenge respectfully but strong sense of teamwork and collaboration to drive desired outcomes
- You are a doer, who can juggle conflicting priorities
- Your ability to navigate cross functionally will see your demonstrable collaborative, communication
- Strong people leader able to win the ‘hearts and minds’ of your team.
