The Opportunity
Support, lead, and work with a diverse team ranging from operations, sales, and administration employees when you join the JR team as our Sydney Operations Manager.
This is a rewarding and exciting opportunity for a driven Operations Manager looking to join the senior management team of a successful and expanding business.
Reporting to the General Manager Commercial Operations, you will have full responsibility for the Sydney Commercial business based at our Wetherill Park depot with satellite operations at both Picton and Moss Vale. You will have the autonomy to execute the business strategy, assuming responsibility for safety, operations, P&L budget expectations, and customer service performance together with key client management across the region.
You will rely on your strong leadership and effective decision-making capabilities to drive improvement and deliver on our vision of operational excellence, managing and growing the Hooklift, Frontlift and Rearlift Commercial operations. This role will work very closely with the other key managers in the region, being the Administration Team Manager and Domestic Manager to ensure the Sydney region is performing to its full potential.
About You
- Excellent stakeholder engagement with an ability to build strong relationships across all levels and effectively implement and manage service contracts;
- Ability to confidently lead, drive outcomes, and develop high-performing Operations teams;
- Experience in P&L management, budget preparation and monitoring.
- Proactive and self-starting, with a passion to drive continuous improvement and add value;
- Minimum of three years' experience in a senior management position in Transport, Waste, Recycling or a similar industry;
- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Management, Waste Management, Transport or Logistics would be highly regarded.
- HR Licence or willingness to obtain.
- Sound understanding of National Heavy Vehicle Regulations and experience operating under the Chain of Responsibility requirements
