You will be a key member of the Victorian and East Coast Towage Operations teams, working with highly skilled, experienced and passionate professionals. What You Will Do Your key responsibilities in this position will include:Build strong relationships and trust with our crew, improving culture and engagement.Lead the people processes for crew including recruitment, payroll, performance and growth, onboarding, offboarding, training and development, workers compensation and industrial relations matters.Manage and roster crews in accordance with the enterprise agreement and port operating procedures, and in liaison with the 24/7 East Coast Operations Centre.Support the Technical Superintendent in ensuring the vessel fleet is maintained, operationally fit for purpose and appropriate procedures, standards, and certifications are in place.Ensure all accidents and incidents are reported, investigated and closed out in a timely manner.Ensure vessels are audited and surveyed in compliance with company and statutory requirements.Build and maintain strong and effective relationships with customers and stakeholders.Liaise with the port authority and other relevant regional statutory bodies.Contribute to budgets, forecasts and the ongoing review and optimisation of operational costs.What You Will Need To Succeed To be successful in this position, you will be able to demonstrate:Excellent people skills and the ability to develop and foster strong and positive relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.Ability to work autonomously, demonstrating a strong degree of resilience, initiative, and confidence to make at times difficult decisions and facilitate difficult conversations.Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to influence change and successfully negotiate agreed outcomes.Desire and ability to achieve objectives and deliver results with a long-term and strategic focus.Experience in a similar operational leadership position within the maritime, oil and gas, or resources industries.Tertiary qualifications in management or a business-related discipline or maritime certifications will be highly regarded.If you share our excitement for the journey ahead and would like to work with leaders in the industry, we can't wait to hear from you!
