Parks & Reserves - CRRT
Based in Caulfield, CRRT is a statutory entity responsible for the management, maintenance, operations and development of the 54ha Caulfield Racecourse Reserve. CRRT is NOT responsible for the horse racing track and related facilities which are leased to MRC.
Caulfield Racecourse Reserve includes nearly 30ha of public recreational and park spaces outside of the racing areas. The Trust was established to develop these spaces into usable and inviting facilities for the various users including the community and sports, 7 days a week.
We are seeking an experienced and passionate person to deliver the daily operations and general maintenance of the non-racing areas. Significant steps have been taken by CRRT to improve the reserve and access, with many more to come. This is a new role that is seen as critical to ensuring the Reserve is an enjoyable, safe and well maintained public space.
About you:
- You are passionate about delivering positive outcomes for users, responsive to changing needs, proactive in driving improvements and proud of what our small organisation can achieve.
- You are happy to work independently, act quickly, and find practical solutions as problems arise. At the same time, you can see the long term goals and drive current actions towards achieving them.
- You are an experienced operator within the landscaping, parks, gardening or maintenance industry, who can also lead contractors and suppliers to deliver excellent outcomes.
- You are flexible, happy to be hands-on, whilst having a strong understanding of technical needs including safety, equipment operations, materials handling, etc
- Through exceeding expectations, you are keen to develop yourself and take on additional responsibilities as the organisation grows over the coming years.
About the role:
Reporting to the CEO, you will be responsible for:
- Maintenance of all Trust areas and assets.
- Ground maintenance of all open spaces.
- Ensuring timely and easy access for visitors, to public areas only.
- Establishing and maintaining a safe environment for all people on site.
- Delivering a seamless, positive and inviting space that supports the delivery of the organisation’s objectives.
- Manage daily operations and maintenance, including the sourcing and scheduling technical contractors when required.
