In this role you will manage Capacity Planning and Resource Allocation in order to balance the need to meet project requirements with the efficient use of resources to ensure the overall success of the organisation. You will:
- Oversee Allocation of resources to different projects and teams based on project requirements, timelines, and resource availability.
- Continuously assess the organization's resource capacity for the individual functions and plan for future resource needs, taking into consideration the pipeline of upcoming projects and their resource requirements.
- Monitor and track the utilization of resources on a day-to-day basis to ensure that resources are being used efficiently and effectively.
- Address and resolve resource conflicts that may arise due to competing project priorities, unexpected changes, or resource shortages. This might involve negotiations with project managers and team leads as well as Function Leads and RBMs.
- Analyse the utilization of resources to identify areas of improvement, such as underutilized or overutilized resources, and implement strategies to optimize resource usage.
- Maintain clear and transparent communication with project managers and team leads regarding resource availability, allocation changes, and potential resource constraints.
- You are experienced in technical and / or project management in the rail industry projects.
- Tertiary education in in technology (engineering) areas of automation / electrical / communication / railway / informatics or management/business administration.
- Knowledge and experience of Project Management processes and project scheduling.
