ABOUT THIS ROLE

We are seeking a self-motivated, enthusiastic, people-oriented and can-do attitude Operations Supervisor, based at our Bayswater Depot, to lead our team of waste collection professionals and effectively manage daily operational goals. 

Starting at 4am, you are responsible for the early morning management of the driver team and attending to any unplanned absences, breakdowns and resourcing as-needed. 

The role is a mix of hands-on and office-based with consistent engagement of our driving teams to achieve the desired outcomes on safety, productivity, process, compliance mentoring and training. 

You will be working with a safe, modern and reliable fleet, serviced and maintained in our on-site workshop.

We are an essential services industry, offering stability to employees and reliability to our customers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee Commercial operations on a day-to-day basis, including management of the commercial driver team, run scheduling and optimisation
• Knowledge and competency of all driver systems and carry out driver mentoring and training  
• Ensure all drivers and staff comply with JJs training requirements and accreditation
• Strive to achieve and uphold a high level of customer service within the business 
• Strive for improvement in operations whilst upholding a high level of safety at all times

ABOUT YOU

• Minimum HR license & driving experience essential
• Experience in transport, logistics or service industry
• Existing experience in front lift, rear lift, hook lift and liquid tanker operations highly regarded
• Experience with people management, relationship management and communication skills 
• Ability to perform under pressure and to tight deadlines
• You are results orientated and always strive to improve efficiencies 
• Motivate staff effectively and consistently – maintain positive work culture
• Competent in the use of Microsoft Office suite 
• Current or willing to obtain high risk forklift license
• Able to successfully satisfy a pre-employment medical and W.A commercial fitness to drive
• Existing or potential to obtain controlled waste carrier license
