  Queensland Metals Glencore is currently seeking to fill a vacancy that exists for an Operator Maintainer (Auxiliary Plant Attendant) within our Copper Smelter – Mines Power Station department.   The Role  Mount Isa Mines are currently advertising a vacancy that exists within the Mines Power Station for an Operator Maintainer (Auxiliary Plant Attendant). Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, this challenging role will require you to work on a variety of tasks, with an opportunity to develop your technical skills and industry knowledge.

  This position is residentially based in Mount Isa and will require you to work a 42-hour week, continuous shift roster (7D7O7N7O). Occasionally you may be required to be flexible in terms of work times and rosters.   You will be responsible for: Operating and maintaining power generation, oxygen plant and high pressure & low pressure compressed air assets.

Working collaboratively with tradespeople and engineers in a multidisciplinary environment. Ensuring set targets are met and the operation runs efficiently. About you: A trade qualification – Mechanical or Electrical trade qualifications is not mandatory but will be highly regarded.

Experience in boiler and turbine generation is desirable. We will provide training if you do not hold! A demonstrated commitment to safety A self-motivated positive attitude and enjoy working in small yet highly productive teams Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
