This position is a permanent role based in Alice Springs. As Operator, your key role is to effectively monitor the generating plant and associated equipment across the differing technologies.
Excellent remuneration with a series of allowances, and your salary will be based on experience. Allowances and benefits:
- 6 weeks recreation leave per annum
- The ability to purchase up to an additional 6 weeks of leave
- Relocation from outside of Alice Springs
- Allowance package range approx. $49,669 - $58,712 based on experience
- Carry out all duties in accordance with set safety, environmental and quality policies, safety principles, corporate values and strategies, driving a constructive culture.
- Work with the Remote Operations Centre (ROC) in Berrimah to achieve safe & efficient operations of the Power Station.
- In conjunction with the Manager, coordinate the Safe Systems of Work (SSoW) systems and processes to deliver safe access to plant for planned and unplanned maintenance.
- Conduct operations routines & work on the Power Station, including routine plant inspections on:
- gas turbines
- reciprocating engines
- associated plant, including water treatment plant, equipment lubrication, routine tests
- Identification of plant defects through the business ERP (Pronto).
- Track work hours through associated work orders in the business ERP (Pronto).
- Participate in 24/7 shift roster
- Direct, undertake or supervise work as necessary to maintain the safety of personnel on the site and to ensure the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the Power Station plant.
- Demonstrated competence in the area of workplace safety and commitment to safe work practices.
- AQF Level III Certificate OR relevant skills, knowledge and experience.
- Demonstrated understanding and proven experience in contributing to the achievement of a constructive culture.
- Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills which have resulted in effective team membership and contribution to workplace objectives.
- Proven ability to analyse technical systems and assess /report anomalies.
- Well-developed computer literacy.
- Experience with continuous shift work.
- Experience in the operation of gas turbines, dual fuel and spark fired reciprocating engines and exposure to defect reporting ensuring that information and accuracy of defect is of a high standard.
- Experience within a Permit to Work system that ensures safety access to plant.
- AQF Level III Certificate in a Mechanical/Electrical Trade within a relevant industrial environment. Power supply industry ideally.
