About the role
WesTrac is seeking an energetic and results driven Operator Trainer. The role is responsible for demonstrating the capability of new construction equipment upon delivery to customers as well as undertaking the training of operators to gain the maximum benefit of the machine using technology and operator practices. Your ability to meet the various needs of customers are critical to the success of the role. You will be responsible for planning, delivering and reviewing the effectiveness of the operator training programs to both internal and external customers. The role requires frequently travel up to 4 days per week to various sites across the state to deliver training, where you will be provided a vehicle for the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 2D/3D guidance training support across the Caterpillar fleet
- Support sales and product events
- Support delivery of accredited and non-accredited training
- Liaising with the Sales team to support new machine deliveries
- As the successful candidate you will possess the following skills:
- Experience operating a wide variety of Caterpillar Construction (GCI) and/or non - Caterpillar machinery
- Experience in 2D/3D machine guidance systems (GPS, Trimble etc)
- Ability to influence and build strong customer relationships
- A demonstrated commitment to safety and the environment
- Previous experience in coaching or training with successful outcomes
- Ability to develop online and electronic training materials with use of powerpoint.
- Ability to travel within NSW/ACT up to 4 days per week
- Strong understanding of site design and construction process
- Current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE)
- Certificate III qualification in a related industry (preferably RII package)
- Experience operating mobile plant in the mining industry
