Nash has raised a $75m Growth Fund targeting 4 to 5 investments (30-75% stake) in private businesses with an enterprise value of $15m to $100m. We have made our first investment and are looking for an Originations Associate or Manager to join the team to lead our outbound advisory and investment originations function.
Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated and proactive Originations Associate to join our team. You will be responsibly for identifying, meeting with, and sourcing potential investment opportunities in private businesses within Australia and New Zealand. The ideal candidate will have a strong network, a keen eye for identifying businesses which fit within our investment mandate, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with business owners, advisors (corporate advisors, accountants, lawyers, wealth advisors), and industry professionals.
The role will require regular interstate travel across Australia and occasional travel to New Zealand.
Key Responsibilities:
Identify and evaluate potential investment opportunities in private mid-market businesses across various sectors in Australia and New Zealand.
Conduct market mapping, research and analysis to uncover new investment prospects within our target industries and sectors.
Identify all private businesses within a sector, contacting those which fit within the Nash investment mandate to introduce Nash and initiate conversations with founders and management teams for the investment team to present the value of partnering with Nash as part of their growth or succession plans.
Build and maintain a robust network of industry contacts, including business owners, brokers, advisors, and other stakeholders.
Have a deep understanding of the Nash Capital investment process, in order to communicate the value add Nash Capital offers to investee companies.
Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities.
Attending industry conferences to identify and build relationships with target businesses.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, accounting, or a related field
3-5 years of experience in private equity, corporate finance, financial markets, services or a related field.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders, including business owners, advisors and industry professionals.
CRM Management and demonstrated ability to identify and evaluate investment opportunities.
Self-starter with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of the Australian mid-market business landscape is highly desirable.
