Based in Gippsland, Latrobe Regional Health are looking for an orthopaedic practise nurse to join our private consulting suites on a part time basis to support our developing fracture clinic.
The purpose of this role is to build the scope and trust of the position within the health service, while improving patient access, opportunities for care by assisting in the development of clinical processes, and on-going development of the service. Clinical practice will include working in conjunction with orthopaedic Outpatient Clinicians to provide Nurse assessment for Adults and children with a range orthopaedic and postoperative issues.
The Orthopaedic Practice Nurse plays a vital role in the Fracture Clinic, delivering high-quality, patient-centered care as part of a multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities include performing pre-triage assessments, managing plaster casts and wound care, educating patients and families, overseeing medical supplies, and implementing policies and procedures. The nurse collaborates with orthopaedic registrars and other healthcare professionals to create individualised care plans, all in alignment with National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards (NSQHS). Training will be provided for these responsibilities.

We are looking for candidates with:
- Registered in Division 1 of the register (AHPRA)./ Division 2 of register (NMBA)
- Practicing certificate
- Evidence of recent professional development
- Demonstrated clinical competence at the appropriate level and adequate experience in the field of Nurse after obtaining qualification.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
