CELC offers Before School Care, After school Care and Vacation Care at 11 services throughout the Cairns Region from Mossman to Gordonvale.
We are looking for a passionate OSHC Assistant Co-Ordinator to join our Holy Cross OSHCare on a temporary part-time basis until January 2025 (with possibility for extension).
Your New Role
As an Assistant Co-Ordinator you will work collaboratively with in a part-time capacity (35 hours per week) with your Nominated Supervisor in the day-to-day operations of the service including:
Maintain confidentiality and professionalism
Laugh, play and create with children in activities such as sports, craft, cooking and games
Motivate, inspire and mentor your team of educators
Providing children with a safe, secure and inclusive play space
A passionate and enthusiastic attitude towards engagement with children, families, Educators, and the wider community
Support the development and implementation of an innovative program based on My Time Our Place and National Quality Standards
Implement Spirituality in the Early Years Program
Ensure compliance with Government Regulations and Centre Policies and Procedures to meet our high-quality standards
Build and maintain genuine and professional connections with children, families, colleagues, and the centre community
Observe, record and share with families in their children’s learning and development

About You
QLD Blue Card or ability to obtain
Hold or working towards an ACECQA approved Diploma Qualification in Early Childhood Education and Care or 2 year equivalent. A range of study areas may be recognised including: behavioural science, community services, creative arts, education, nursing, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech pathology, sports and recreation and human welfare studies. Over 12 months experience working with children in an Education and Care setting is highly desirable
An understanding of both the My Time Our Place and National Quality Standards (NQS)
First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis and Asthma certificates or willingness to obtain
Ability to navigate software programs such as Microsoft 365, OWNA and willingness to learn other platforms as needed
Strong leadership skills and an ability to confidently guide and mentor your peers
Effective communication (verbal and written) and relationship building skills
Energetic, enthusiastic and reliable
