We have an exciting Coordinator opportunity leading our Outside School Hours Care service, Helping Hands Silkwood Independent School located in Mount Nathan, on the Gold Coast.
About the role
Leading a team of Educators, you will manage a service at a primary school in the hours before and after school for children aged 5-12 years. You'll have the support of a state specific office, plus regional managers who regularly visit and mentor you at your service.
- Develop and facilitate an engaging child-centered program full of exciting experiences such as STEM, sport, cooking, art and craft - whatever you and the children are into!
- Foster healthy relationships with children, the school, community, and parents
- Lead a team of Educators onsite, including roster management
- Manage the day-to-day operations of your service including compliance and administration

About the school
Your new home is at Helping Hands Silkwood, a beautiful OSHC service operating from the unique and innovative Silkwood School, nestled between Nerang and Mount Nathan. You will be taking ownership of this established service and have the support of a strong and supportive team of regular educators.
The Helping Hands service at Silkwood School has an average attendances 3-4 children in the mornings and approx. 35 children in the afternoons. The service utilizes a dedicated OSHC room, a large veranda and a large nature playground and forest play area including a small creek.
This role offers 33.75 hours per week, on a permanent part-time basis. This includes 5 hours of paid non-contact (administration) time.
Who are we looking for?
We can teach you about the job and sector, but a few basics you need to have:
- Enjoy working with kids
- Strong and clear communication
- Team player with a desire to become a service leader
- Hold or willing to obtain a national police check (we'll pay for it!) and a state check for working with children
- Australian work rights
- Diploma or higher (Or working towards) in: Teaching, Education, Music, Behavioral Science, Community Services, Youth, Creative or Fine Arts, Early Childhood Education, Nursing or Allied Health, Sport and Recreation or Human Welfare.
